Der Stall (The Barn) guesthouse Barn in historic Fredericksburg, Texas, replicates this German descendant’s family barn in Reifenberg, Germany. The innkeeper and two generations of the innkeeper’s descendants constructed this fully modern guesthouse, including milling the hardwood floorboards from locally procured rough-cut pine.
This 605-square-foot Fredericksburg, Texas, guesthouse has a master bedroom featuring a queen-size bed with a robust log headboard and footboard. The innkeepers made both from nearby cedar trees. The bedroom also has a romantic in-floor two-person Jacuzzi brand jetted bath. You’re invited to dim the lighting and let the warm, bubbling water soothe your cares away. Climb the steep (did we mention the steps are steep?) wooden steps to the hayloft for two full-size beds with a commanding view down into the cozy living room.
The bathroom features a corner shower and a one-of-a-kind bucket sink on a circa 1930 Motorola console radio/record player. A replica 1890 hand pump supplies water to the sink.
The living room in the Texas guesthouse features a German hutch used daily by your innkeepers in Queidersbach, Germany, where your innkeepers and family lived before moving to Texas. The hutch provides space for the coffeemaker, microwave oven, and mini-refrigerator stocked with complimentary beverages. Also in the living room is a television with a VCR/DVD player only and an eclectic collection of movies for you to relax and watch. Der Stall guesthouse will comfortably sleep a maximum of 4 persons.
In the morning you may brew your own cup of custom-blended coffee with the in-room Keurig coffee service.
Enjoy the solitude of staying on 3 acres of a 380-acre high-fenced neighborhood. You will have a good chance of seeing white-tailed deer walking around (Alice and Mary are quite tame) and sitting in awe as the peacocks and peahens strut by. Many of our guests enjoy having their morning coffee in the covered picnic bench area next to the barn.
Special Bed and Breakfast Rates:
Our standard rate is $150/night with a two-night minimum, but we are proud to offer special rates to some exceptional guests:
- Visually impaired guests with a service dog – $60 per night per couple plus tax. (dog or cane) – $60 per night per couple plus tax.
- Active duty military E-5 or below (with current military ID) – $60 per night per couple plus tax.
- Army air ambulance crewmembers – $60 per night per couple plus tax.
